Giving students the opportunity to
travel is one of the most rewarding experiences you
can offer young people. Not only does it enhance your
curriculum, but also fosters self-confidence, independence,
and curiosity in your students.
After graduating with a B.Ed. in French
Studies, my career led me into the wonderful world
of independent schools and international education,
working at the Canadian College Italy. I have recently
returned to Canada to join the Ellison team after
spending six years living in Lanciano, an ancient
Roman city surrounded by vineyards, olive groves,
and the Apennine Mountains. It was an ideal setting
for me to discover the country and become fluent in
Italian.
During the latter half of my stay
in Italy, I spent three years working as a European
Tour Manager and have escorted numerous high school
and adult groups through Italy, Switzerland, England,
France, Germany, and Austria. The travel motivations
of these groups was varied, and I have escorted educational
tours, choirs, sports teams, and leisure travellers.
My personal travels have also taken me to Egypt, Thailand,
Czech Republic, and Cuba. I've also seen much of Canada,
including extended camping trips to Northern Ontario
and through the Maritimes.
Travelling with students has allowed
me to see them consider opportunities that they wouldn't
have known existed if they had stayed at home. I look
forward to helping you make the world your classroom.
Buon viaggio!
