For thirty- one years, I had a wonderful
career with the Peel District School Board as an elementary
music teacher, regional music consultant, and as a
department head for the arts at the secondary school
level. One of the highlights of each year was the
annual music trip. I have taken music groups to many
Canadian and American cities, the Nationals of Musicfest,
and also to Europe. My wife and I have also had the
pleasure of travelling and performing with the Mendelssohn
Choir across North America and Europe.
I have always believed that travel is an essential
part of education, especially music education. By
travelling to see where the great composers lived
and worked, the student is able to fully appreciate
the greatness and creativity of each composer. Students
are also able to grasp the historical, social, and
scientific aspects of the time period. By performing
in European or North American cities, students are
given the opportunities to fully experience the thrill
of connecting with many different cultures, time periods
and societies.
I enjoy organizing and directing tours. I have a strong
background in instrumental (concert band and jazz
ensembles) and vocal music. I also work as a church
organist and choir director and I am very interested
in choral, history, and religious tours as well as
escorting instrumental groups.
My experience has shown that through careful planning
and attention to detail, your travel itinerary will
be enhanced allowing all of the students to get the
most from their trip. As a tour manager, I look forward
to traveling with you on your next excursion. Let
me take care of travel responsibilities. This will
enable you to enjoy exciting, memorable experiences
that you and your students will remember for a lifetime.
I look forward to travelling
with you soon.
