My
name is Rob Farris. My interest in travel was developed
at an early age through many family trips in Canada
and the USA.
During
my 30 years as a secondary school geography and social
sciences teacher, I organized many class field trips
in Ontario. I also had the opportunity to co-organize
and participate in several high school performing
music trips to MusicFest Canada and Europe with my
wife Betty, a secondary school music teacher (now
retired). In addition to the school trips to Europe,
Betty and I have travelled extensively in Canada and
parts of the USA.
Most
recently, I was Tour Director for her school band's
Britain-France excursion in March 2006. (photo below

Since
retiring from active teaching in 2002, I have travelled
with the band, done supply teaching in a variety of
subjects and taught pre-service teachers at a Faculty
of Education. I enjoy working with students, and meeting
new people from all walks of life.
My
hobbies are travel, gardening, square dancing, church
choir, skiing, snowmobiling, reading, woodworking
and home renovation.
I
look forward to helping other groups have exciting
and meaningful travel experiences.
